Stanglerhof: aperitif, buffet and perfromance - L'Addition

• Description

A table, a chair, a white tablecloth, a bottle. This minimalist stage set is occupied by two protagonists: a waiter and a guest who orders a glass of wine. This initial situation, which is repeated several times, eventually begins to spiral out of control, and the roles dissolve. Who is actually serving whom here? The work of British director Tim Etchells, developed in collaboration with the brilliant performance duo Bert and Nasi, uses simple means to stage a complex, hilarious, and explosive performance. However, this reduction to essential elements makes the complexity all the greater: “L'Addition" is not only entertaining, but also a sharp reflection on the nature of power, whose dynamics are revealed as mercilessly as they are humorously.”
