The wind blows snow crystals over the snow-covered ground. Your feet are tingling, your nose itches. So get out and into the fresh winter air! The mountain world is clear, clean and white as you glide over the snow around Tiers am Rosengarten/Tires al Rosengarten!
Snowshoeing in the Dolomites is more than a mere alternative to skiing! Whether as a sporting activity or just for relaxation, lightweight snowshoes – or “ciaspole” in Italian – distribute your body weight so that you don’t sink into the snow. So you can set off for the welcoming mountain huts and spectacular views of the Latemar and Rosengarten massifs, whose sheer beauty will find a place in your heart. A “ciaspolata” or snowshoe excursion is an experience for all the senses and needs practically no prior knowledge. Snowshoes are ideal for use on every kind of snow cover and type. And, to get to the starting point of your snow-white adventure in Carezza, you can stay car-free and take a ski lift – perhaps the exclusive Cabrio cable car up from Tiers!
Ambitious snowshoers can tackle around 16 kilometres of snowshoeing trails with climbs of up to 1,300 metres of altitude. Guided tours are also offered several times a week. Are you tempted? No problem – you can rent all the gear on the spot!
